Mediation is a negotiation between parties who have decided to reach a agreement without litigation. It is a voluntary and confidential process. The mediator is a neutral party trained to help parties resolve any inevitable disputes that arise. The primary task of the mediation is to produce a fair and reasonable agreement.

- Speedier resolution of conflicts
- Less costly: avoiding attorney fees
- Fair agreement that is in the best interest of all, especially children
- Lasting agreements that will be the basis for a post-divorce relationship

Founded and operated by William Blout, LICSW, Lexington Mediation Associates is a collaborative of caring professionals who specialize in relevant areas of expertise including legal, accounting, consultation and financial planning. The company was founded by Mr. Blout to provide very personal, responsive mediation services to families and couples who are seeking a powerful and lasting alternative to resolve conflicts.
Questions Parents Ask...
Parents who chose mediation frequently are very sensitive to the acute and ongoing needs of their children. They ask questions such as:
When and how shall we talk with our children about our separation or divorce?
Do the extreme behaviors we see in our adolescent or child require psychotherapeutic intervention?
How much flexibility versus how much structure shall we build into our divorce agreement to anticipate the changing needs of our children as they develop?
What do we do when we don’t agree about our children’s behavior, changing living arrangements, the fairness of dividing costs for college or living expenses?
William L. Blout, LICSW, whose specialty is family and post-divorce mediation, has a background of thirty years experience as a family therapist and administrator of adolescent and family services. He has worked with the most difficult family issues such as addictions, anxiety, autism, behavioral disorders, depression, learning disabilities, and sexual abuse.

Understanding - Mr. Blout is uniquely qualified in working with families in conflict.
